Dave Wannstedt has suddenly become a hot coaching commodity

Dave Wannstedt, best known as a former head coach of the Chicago Bears, Miami Dolphins and the University of Pittsburgh, as well as the owner of the NFL’s seventh greatest mustache ever, is in high demand for a number of coaching positions.

That’s the word from ESPN’s Chris Mortensen and Adam Schefter. Wanny is reportedly wanted in San Diego, Carolina, Cleveland and Buffalo. Presumably, these teams would want him as a defensive coordinator, a position he held under Jimmy Johnson with the Dallas Cowboys from ’89 – ’92. Schefter and Mort say that Wannstedt also wants to be an assistant head coach, which he was under Johnson in 1999 in Miami.
